Regular Mode

This gamemode was released alongside the new roles and features during the 3.0.0 update, updating the regular servers. Featuring a new system gameplay mechanic: Good Vs. Evil in teams. However, not all of the roles would appear, each game will have: Murderer, Detective, (Two Random Special Good & Evil Roles), (Muffin Man/Twins) and the rest would be survivors. For example: Murderer / Detective / Savior / Medic / Dark Psychic / Scout / Twins / Survivors. The Pro Servers were replaced by Classic Servers.

Действительно ли у Flicker Free отсутствует мерцание?

После появления на рынке мониторов с новой технологией у потребителей появилось подозрение, что это просто маркетинговый ход. Ведь кто знает, вдруг производитель просто пытается продать за большие деньги обычный дисплей?

Действительно, компания может заявить в описании к устройству о наличии продвинутой технологии Flicker Free. Вот только некоторые фирмы хитрят и просто маскируют мерцание методом повышение изменения электроимпульсной широтной модуляции (ШИМ). Проще говоря, внутреннее строение дисплея оставалось прежним, просто изменялись его настройки.

Отрицательной стороной такого подхода является то, что повышенная частота ШИМ воздействует на нервную систему. После нескольких часов сидения за таким монитором возникают головные боли.

Технологически правильным является использование DC-модуляции подсветки. В отличие от ШИМ, у такой подсветки во время работы создается световой поток без перепадов яркости, которую не требуется никак регулировать. Именно так по правилам должна работать технология Flicker Free, которая максимально безопасна для зрения.

К сожалению, производители могут не писать о технических особенностях матрицы монитора. Поэтому, если человек хочет приобрести именно качественную модель с Flicker Free, то придется углубляться в описание конкретного дисплея и отзывы на специализированных сайтах, посвященных обзорам компьютерной техники.

Flicker Free и другие характеристики монитора

Не стоит считать, что наличие монитора с Flicker Free позволяет часами напролет смотреть фильмы или проходить игры без вреда для зрения. Действительно, отсутствие мерцания снижает данный вред.

Но Flicker Free не является революционным прорывом, который на 100% защищает зрение. Поэтому совет окулистов каждый час делать перерыв в работе за компьютером остается актуален.

При выборе монитора, помимо технологии Flicker Free, следует обращать внимание на следующие моменты:

1. LED-подсветка должна быть либо двухцветная, либо трехцветная. В этом случае глаза будут меньше утомляться;
2. Для игр и фильмов оптимальной частотой будет диапазон 120-144 Гц. Меньшая частота создаст больше погрешностей при смене кадров;
3. Яркость. Если человек в основном пользуется монитором при искусственном освещении, то оптимальной яркостью будет значение до 200 нит. Для просмотра фильма в темноте желательна яркость менее 100 нит;
4. Разрешение. Для разрешений с большим значением понадобится мощная видеокарта. Если пренебречь этим правилом, то вместо четкого изображения будет присутствовать размытость.

Information

Roles are the main function that are played by a player. Each role has a utility and behavior. The roles existed since the First Flicker Version (also known as OG). In the new update, the roles are separated into Teams; The Good Team, the Evil Team, and the Neutral Team. If the good team eliminates the evil team, the Good Team wins. If the Evil Team eliminates the Good Team, the Evil Team wins. If the Good Team fails to eliminate the Evil Team (e.g. one person left on both the good and evil team) the evil team wins. The new Regular Gamemode in version 3.0.0 introduces 7 new roles, new role cards, and more. Click here to gain more information about the new 3.0.0 update. When game starts in Regular mode, there are 4 special good roles and 3 evil roles, and all the others are survivors. While in Classic mode, there is 3 special good roles, 1 murderer, leaving the other players to be assigned the role survivor.

Отличие Flicker Free от Flicker Save

Flicker Save является родственной технологией Flicker Free. Первая используется в мониторах LG, вторая во всех остальных. По заявлению представителей LG, применяемая в их устройствах технология снижает микромерцания до минимального значения, при котором они практически не воспринимаются глазом.

Некоторые люди, разбирающиеся в электронике, считают разработку LG просто маркетинговым ходом. Flicker Free почти ничем не отличается от Flicker Save. Поэтому при приобретении монитора нет необходимости выбирать между той или иной технологией. Лучше ориентироваться на стоимость и другие характеристики устройства.

Монитор с Flicker Free – действительно хорошее решение для тех, кто заботится о зрении. Но данная технология лишь способствует меньшему утомлению глаз. Это не отменяет необходимости соблюдать разумный режим нахождения перед монитором и ежечасно делать перерывы.

The Detective is a replacement for the Investigator role in Regular Gamemode (making the Investigator exclusive to the Classic Gamemode, being a classic counterpart of the Detective). They are given 2 or 3 clues each night to figure out who is on the good or evil team. It is the leader of the good team.

The Survivor is a default role without any special abilities to it. Their main objective hence the name above is to SURVIVE. There should be a maximum of 5 Survivors per regular game because of how the game system chooses the roles, they originated in the Classic.

The Savior is a role on the good team that is able to revive a dead player. The Savior can revive any dead player, so long as they are in-game. If the Savior revives a Twin, only that Twin is brought back, while the other Twin remains a spectator. This role was leaked before the 3.0.0 update.

The Psychic is a modified role in Regular mode. Unlike in Classic mode, where the Psychic can know the exact role of a player, the Psychic now learns whether the player is on the Good or Evil team. This role was also originated in the Classic Gamemode.

The Spy can «bug» one player to view: who visited them, and whether or not they were attacked. This means that they can see if a player was protected, if they received a muffin, etc. The counterpart of spy is scout. This role was also leaked for the 3.0.0 update.

The Medic can save a targeted player. Although, if the player has been targeted by the Assassin, the Medic is unable to save the target. They can also save themselves once per game. The Medic is also a role originated in the Classic Gamemode.

The Twin is a unique yet fragile role. A twin knows who their other twin is. Twins are linked, meaning if one twin dies, the other does. However, this isn’t always the case, as if both twins die and one of them gets revived, the other will not.

The Muffin Man can deliver a muffin to someone per night, with the muffins having no benefit or effect. They are for entertainment purposes only, and originated in Classic Gamemode. The muffin, however, can help you reveal your role as muffin man by sending a note to the player you will give the muffin to and prove your innocence.

The Pumpkin Man is able to deliver a miniature, eatable pumpkin to one other player each night, giving them the «Halloween 2020 Badge!» badge. This role is purely cosmetic. It was implemented into the game on the 22nd of October, 2020 (22/10/2020).

EVIL TEAM

The Murderer can kill someone every time the lights flicker out. They cannot be blocked by the Witch or assassinated by the Assassin as their advantage. They are also known as being the original antagonist on the game, being the leader of the evil team. However, if the medic chooses to save the murderer’s target, then the target will not be murdered.

The Witch is the counterpart of the Medic except their goal is to help the evil team. The Witch a powerful role with the ability to block a player’s ability for a night. For example: If the Medic attempts to protect someone but the Witch blocks the Medic’s ability, the medic won’t be able to save the target. However, if the Witch attempts to block the Murderer or the Assassin the effects will be nullified. This role was also leaked for the 3.0.0 update.

The Assassin is similar to the Murderer except the Medic cannot save the person who will be assassinated. They can only kill once during the game. The Assassin is aware of the identity of the Murderer. However, the Murderer isn’t aware of the identity of the Assassin. However, the assassin cannot kill the murderer.

The Dark Psychic is the Evil Team counterpart of the Regular Psychic except their goal is to help the evil team. The Dark Psychic can reveal a player’s team status.

The Scout is the Evil Team counterpart of the Spy, which has the ability to see who visited the player.

The Clown’s goal is to get voted off (not killed), in order to use their power. Once voted off, they get to drag someone down with them.

Before this was role was officially implemented, it was broken in the Development Site and had to be tested.

Milkman (Sabrina)

The Milkman is an old role concept of the Muffin Man, eventually being replaced by it. The Milkman would be able to deliver one player a carton of milk each night. These cartons of milk do not make any severe changes to the game, being only cosmetic. However, theoretically, they would help you prove your innocence and evade capture.
